Operations Engineer - Qatar Foundation - Doha
Assists the Operations Manager by supervising, monitoring and controlling all maintenance and projects activities at QSTP. The post holder will ensure effective communication with service providers, clients and end-users; and that the operation of QSTP facilities is being implemented according to the agreed standards and within the set timeframe. Lead and coordinate various tasks and activities assigned to achieve desired outcome.

Key Result Areas:
1. Supervise contractors activities at QSTP
2. Review and sign all permit to work system documents, after verifying that all the necessary safety measures are complied with. Carries out site visits to ensure that there are no deviations from established safety procedures and regulations.
3. Prepare activity reports, occurring problems reports and other ad-hoc reports and presentations as required by the department.
4. Carries out pre-implementation checks on drawings and documents of new projects. Participates in the commissioning of these projects and provides feedback to the Operations Manager, to achieve smooth implementation as per schedule.
5. Ensure the maintenance of QSTP facilities is carried as per the approved schedule and standards.
6. Work closely with QFFM to develop an action plan to minimize recurring problems through investigations, recommendations and justifications for the required changes
7. Plan and participate in the facility inspections, safety meetings and emergency mustering drills.
8. Ensure completion of work requests for repairs, replacement of defective equipment, etc. on time and as per the scope.
9. Initiate & prepare projects documentation and obtain required approvals
10. Provide technical support and advice to the Operations Manager by reviewing technical proposals, review design briefs, and prepare technical reports and evaluation.
11. Monitors progress of work and resolve obstacles and ensure completion on time. Carryout random checks on site to ensure adequate quality control is maintained.
12. Maintain appropriate records and statistics for administration and auditing purposes.
13. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to Operations.
14. Communicate with clients and end-users to obtain requirements and ensure satisfaction with progress and deliverables.

AND such other duties within the scope of the spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and its grading.

Skills

Bachelor degree in engineering from a reputable university (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil)
• Minimum 5 years of engineering work experience in which at least 3 in a large organization or multi-company establishment
• Direct experience in managing technical documentation of complex projects and in leading and motivating a cross functional teams
• Ability to handle multi tasks at once and resolve conflicts via negotiations and to effectively communicate with senior management
Computer literacy involving the use of professional office and technical applications
• Fluent in Arabic & English (verbal and written)
• Ability to function as a member of a team
• Organizational, planning and coordination skills
• PMP certification is an advantage
