Publicity PR and Website Manager - Qatar Foundation - Doha
1. The candidate will have a proven track record in achieving wide-spread publicity either within publishing or in a similar industry.
2. They will be used to working both with celebrities and high profile authors as well as having the know-how to effectively promote a debut novelist.
3. They will be strong lateral thinkers and always bring a creative, energetic flair to their campaigns. In addition, they should be strong team-players; have excellent writing skills and have solid contacts both in traditional and online media.
4. Responsibilities include: planning and executing publicity campaigns for mostly children’s books and adult fiction titles; pitching and securing top international, regional and local media, including print, television, online and radio; writing press materials, researching media contacts, updating media lists and assembling all logistics of multi-city book tours and appearances, including liaising with Bloomsbury UK, coordinating book signings, securing media and arranging travel.
Skills
1. Strong interest in public relations, preferably in Children’s book publishing
2. Experience in communications, public relations or journalism
3. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
4. Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
5. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
8. Excellent spoken and written Arabic and English
